APRIL 29, 2018 – Call for Runners and Walkers

OCES fills a major role in the very successful Meals on Wheels program, serving over 1,300 home-delivered meals daily Monday through Friday.  In Massachusetts alone, this cost-effective program serves more than 75,000 older adults who otherwise may go without a nutritious meal.  According to Meals on Wheels America, one year of meals can be provided for roughly the same cost as one day in a hospital.  Can you help support Meals on Wheels by being a runner, or walker, or a donor?

For many of our most vulnerable older adults and individuals with disabilities, the delivery is not only a delicious meal, it is often the only social contact of the day. OCES is committed to this vital program that receives limited federal funding.  Your support will be greatly appreciated.  To register as a runner or walker and to see more detailed information, visit

Queer has a complicated history as it was often used as a derogatory term. Now it serves as an umbrella term that encompasses many people as it intersects with sexual orientation and gender identity. LGBTQ people face a common set of challenges in accessing culturally competent services.  Read More.
